🐾We are looking for a dedicated parent to join our School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council for the 2026-2028 term. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct voice in our school’s leadership and success.

Nominations Close: Thursday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m..
Meet the Nominees: Families will be notified of candidates on Friday, May 15.
Election Days: Cast your vote on Monday, May 18 or Wednesday, May 20 between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m..
🤝 Volunteers Needed!
We also need parents (who are not running for office) to help us run a fair and smooth election. Volunteers will assist with recording nominations, communicating the list of nominees, and staffing the ballot table. If you can help, please contact the office by Wednesday, May 13.
✅ Who Can Serve?
Parents, step-parents, foster parents, or legal guardians of students who will be enrolled at New Highland during the term of office are eligible. Please note that certain district employees and school board members/spouses are ineligible to serve.

The deadline for pre-registration for EOY Award check-in is May 12th. Remember, for any guest who has not registered with the school this school year, you will need to bring a valid ID prior. If you have not pre-registered you will have to do so the day of the event, this could result missing part of the ceremony. All guest must bring a valid ID when checking in.

The Hardin County Schools Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council is collecting items to brighten the lives of local homebound residents and those in long-term care facilities.
A collection bin has been placed at each school in the district. Students, staff, families, parents and community members are encouraged to bring items that would help bring a smile to senior citizens. The collection drive will last from April 21 to May 5, 2026. Law enforcement was looking for an individual. They have apprehended the individual. We have lifted our soft lockdown There was no danger to the building, our students, or our staff. We are did this out of an abundance of caution.
