This is a message from New Highland Elementary with some exciting back-to-school reminders.
Class rosters will be posted outside the front office doors by 1:00 p.m. today, so stop by to find your child's classroom assignment.
Join us for our Open House on Monday, July 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. During Open House, you'll have the opportunity to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, complete beginning-of-the-year paperwork, and update transportation information.
School supply lists are available on our New Highland Elementary website, so be sure to check your child's grade-level list before Open House.
We are also excited to welcome our newest Bullpups to Kinder Camp on Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Kinder Camp is designed to help incoming kindergarten students build relationships, practice classroom routines, and prepare for a successful start to the school year. Lunch will be provided, but transportation is not available, so families will need to drop off and pick up their students.
Finally, the first day of school is Thursday, August 6. The car lane drop off begins at 7:05 am. Students are encouraged to eat breakfast at school from 7:05-7:27 am. We are a CEP school, so breakfast and lunch are available at no charge. Instruction will begin promptly at 7:30 am. Please remember that students will be dismissed one hour early on the first day, so dismissal will begin at 1:15. After the first day, dismissal will begin at 2:15.
We are excited to welcome everyone back and look forward to a fantastic school year. Thank you for being part of the New Highland family. Stronger Together—Bullpups Forever!

A huge congratulations to Brandi Chandler on being elected as our new Parent SBDM (Site-Based Decision Making) Representative!
Thank you to all the parents who participated in the voting process. Having strong, dedicated parent voices is what keeps our school community thriving, and we know Brandi will do an incredible job representing our families, collaborating with staff, and advocating for our students' best interests.
We are so excited to see the positive impact you’ll make in this role, Brandi! Thank you for your leadership and dedication to our school.
Dear Car Rider Families,
We have an exciting day on campus today as we celebrate our students! Because of the ceremonies and the extra traffic it brings, we kindly ask that you do not begin lining up for the afternoon car rider line until 1:45 PM. When arriving, please be extra mindful of your surroundings and ensure that you do not block any parking spots or driveways. This keeps the area safe for our families leaving the graduation and allows regular traffic to flow.
Thank you so much for your understanding, cooperation, and help in making this a smooth and safe afternoon for everyone!

Families may only attend Field Day if they have signed up and been selected as a volunteer via the Google Form on ClassDojo or Facebook.

We will kick off the Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) on May 4-15, 2026. It is very important that students are present and arrive on time each day of testing. If a student is absent, they will be required to complete makeup testing, which may result in missing planned field trips or other fun classroom activities. 3rd Grade will test May 4-5, 4th Grade will test May 6-8, and 5th Grade will test May 11-14. Thank you for your support in helping your child be prepared and ready to do their best!

Today we celebrate our incredible drivers, monitors, and transportation team. From the first pickup to the final bell, they keep our students safe, on time, and cared for.
Thank you for going the extra mile! 💛

Families,
We will kick off our Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) starting May 4th for grades 3rd-5th. It is very important that students are at school and arrive on time each day. If a student misses a testing day, they will be required to test during a makeup day, which may result in missing planned field trips or other activities.
Please talk with your child about the importance of taking their time and doing their best. We know they have worked so hard throughout the year, and we are very proud of them.
Go Bullpups! 🐾❤️
